Radon System Inspection & Homeowner Education

We recently received a phone call from a homeowner in Wellington, Colorado who was thought his Radon mitigation system might not be working. Although he had hired another company to install the system, he admitted that he was never fully educated on how it worked or how to tell if it was operating correctly.

The homeowner specifically mentioned confusion about the Radon system manometer. He wasn’t sure what the U-shaped gauge was for or what the fluid levels were supposed to look like, and he thought maybe the fan had failed.

On-Site Radon System Evaluation

We stopped by the home to perform a Radon mitigation system inspection and quickly identified the issue. The manometer U-tube had slipped slightly, which made it appear as though the gauge was low on fluid and that the radon fan wasn’t pulling properly. In reality, the system was functioning, but the misaligned tube caused unnecessary concern.

We adjusted the manometer U-tube and verified that the Radon fan was operating.
