Sub-crawlspace depressurization Radon mitigation Lingle Wyoming

North Point Radon recently completed a Radon mitigation system installation in Lingle, Wyoming to address elevated radon levels entering a home through a 2,000 square foot crawlspace. Large crawlspaces are a common and easy entry point for Radon gas in homes throughout Goshen County and Eastern Wyoming, making a properly designed crawlspace Radon mitigation system essential for protecting indoor air quality.

The crawlspace on this home presented a unique challenge because a structural stem wall ran down the center of the crawlspace, dividing the area into two sections. Our Radon mitigation team designed a sub-membrane depressurization system capable of creating strong pressure field communication beneath the crawlspace floor so Radon soil gas could be effectively captured from both sides of the crawlspace.

The homeowner’s builder had previously purchased 6-MIL vapor barrier, and at the homeowner’s request our team incorporated that material into the installation as part of the sub Vapor Barrier depressurization system. The Vapor barrier was carefully installed and sealed to create an airtight layer that allows the Radon mitigation fan to efficiently draw soil gases from beneath the crawlspace.

The Radon mitigation piping and fan were installed on the exterior of the home near the air conditioning unit, allowing for a clean and professional installation while maintaining proper clearances and optimal airflow. The system continuously pulls Radon gas from beneath the crawlspace membrane and safely vents it above the roofline where it cannot re-enter the home.
