Sub Sump Crawlspace Depressurization System Dacono, CO

As part of an inspection resolution, a local Realtor reached out needing a radon mitigation system installed and a post-mitigation test completed as quickly as possible to keep the real estate transaction on track. We were able to adjust our schedule to accommodate the tight timeline and get everything completed without delaying closing.

This ranch-style home had a crawl space with an existing vapor barrier that was still in excellent condition. After inspecting the home, we determined there was no need to replace the barrier, saving both the buyer and seller unnecessary expense. Instead, we incorporated the existing vapor barrier into the system design.

We also determined that the most effective suction point was the existing sump pit located in the crawl space. Our mitigation pipe was connected through the side of the sump pit, and we carefully sealed both the sump lid and the pipe penetration to create an airtight system.

The home tested at 9.0 pCi/L during the inspection. After installing the mitigation system, the post-mitigation test came back at just 0.3 pCi/L—well below the EPA action level and a significant improvement.

The sellers were thrilled that we were able to fit the project into our schedule on short notice while still delivering exceptional results.
